Al Ain Archeological and Cultural Site

Our team was appointed to record the archaeological site in Al Ain as part of a wider UAE Government heritage programme dedicated to the documentation of archaeological and historic sites. The project reflects the UAE’s long term commitment to safeguarding cultural assets through carefully planned and professionally delivered initiatives.
Working collaboratively with leading experts and partner teams, UPG Surveying implemented a comprehensive, multi layered survey strategy combining aerial photogrammetry, terrestrial photogrammetry, 3D laser scanning, high resolution photography, and topographic surveying. This methodology allowed the area to be captured at multiple scales, from the wider landscape to individual features, while meeting all regulatory and cultural requirements.
Focused recording was carried out for key elements of particular significance, including a historic house structure, a traditional falaj water system, and a series of rock art carvings. These features were captured in fine detail using high precision digital techniques, preserving their form, condition, and cultural context as part of the location’s broader historical narrative.
Outcome
The project is ongoing and continues to deliver a detailed, multi-scale digitalarchive of the archaeological site. Through the integration of aerial andground based surveying technologies, UPG Surveying is providing highquality documentation that supports conservation planning, research, andthe long term protection of this important heritage asset.
