LIWA RACETRACK

Our team was commissioned to assess a proposed site within the Liwa Desert for the development of a full-scale replica of the Finland Levi racetrack. The desert’s natural sand dune formations presented both aesthetic opportunities and engineering challenges, requiring an approach that balanced the client’s creative vision with technical feasibility.
Concept
The media production team envisioned a racetrack that would be completely level yet visually integrated into the surrounding dunes. The track surface had to remain flat for performance, while the natural dune landscape served as a dramatic backdrop to preserve the desired environment and cinematic effect.
Scope of Work
We provided detailed topographic surveys of the selected area and designed the replica racetrack layout based on the Levi model, adapted to local terrain conditions. This involved developing cut-and-fill earthwork calculations to support tender documentation and cost estimation. In addition, we gave design inputs and technical guidance for the subsequent construction phase.
Outcome
The resulting design package provided a clear framework for tendering and enabled the client to move forward confidently into the construction stage. By delivering accurate geospatial mapping, the racetrack was built faithfully within the unique Liwa desert landscape.
