We were commissioned by an EPC power transmission contractor responsible for upgrading and constructing a new 132 kV overhead transmission line in a challenging rocky mountain region. The project required highly accurate geospatial data to support both engineering design and construction planning.
Our responsibilities included:
- Conducting detailed terrain topographic surveys across the mountainous project corridor
- Surveying several existing transmission towers and 132 kV conductors
- Capturing elevation profiles, tower positions, and conductor geometry essential for design analysis
Outcome & Deliverables
The processed geospatial dataset served as a critical input for:
- Planning and designing access roads for heavy machinery and tower installation
- Engineering conductor spans, sag profiles, and ensuring safe electrical clearances between conductors and rugged terrain
- Supporting the overall layout and construction methodology of the new OHL alignment
Our work provided the contractor with precise and reliable survey data, enabling safe, optimized, and efficient design and construction in one of the region’s most demanding landscapes.
